In LOVING memory of Odie!

BoPeep, Stacy and Odie

Odie was found on the streets of Wisconsin. Scared and alone, someone brought him to a shelter. He would have ended up at the pound, but, thankfully, Stacy's cousin worked there and noticed Odie was something special. A phone call later and Odie was living in Chicago with Stacy and Mark.

They're all wearing their new Cesar Millan scarves, which say: Born to follow my Pack Leader!

Scared of other dogs at first, Odie soon became one of the pack at "grandma's" house.

Stacy trying to look serious...Odie just havin' fun!

I love you mom!

Stacy and Odie, his first week after they rescued him.

When Odie first arrived, he was a shy, scared dog who had obviously been abused. He was skinny and would cry and pee if you tried to touch him...particularly on his collar or behind. He must have been dragged and spanked a lot.

But now he found a very loving home!

Always such a happy dog!

Odie was so happy in his new home...and soon began to trust people again.

After BoPeep went to rest for Cancer, Simon joined the family. Simon is much more lively than poor, little, old Bo was. So much more play time for Odie with his new pal.

Even more important, Odie learned to be a dog!

Don't they share so well!

When he first arrived, dog toys confused and scared him.

But he soon watched the other dogs playing with toys and realized it was fun to romp around tossing and squeaking these strange things.

Warning...vicious dog!<smirk>

He even learned to have fun wrestling around with other dogs...and his family.

Nah...he's so lovable.

(Umm, dad, you're crushing my head!)

But he was ever the soft, sweet, friendly, loveable and sometimes squishy dog.

Look, up in the sky...it's Super Odie!

Always accommodating, this picture was actually taken after Stacy tied a baby blanket to him and asked him to jump in the air after a toy.

He did...and then the picture was turned horizontally, a background was added and voila...instant super Odie!

Sleep peacefully, dear Odie!

You had a rough start to your life
and you endured a tough struggle at the end.

But between those times, you were not only a lucky dog,
who found a wonderful loving family and home,
but you brought incredible smiles and laughter to
those in your life...you were a clown and a JOY!

You will NEVER be forgotten, Odie.

Sleep peacefully, dear Odie!

WE LOVED YOU AND KNOW YOU LOVED US!

A big dog, who always slept so sweetly, curled up in a little ball.

EXTREMELY sadly...Odie suddenly started to show signs of an illness during the first week of Aug 2007. A trip to the vet gave the terrible news that sweet Odie was in the final stages of kidney failure! He was only about 5 yrs old.

He was given fluids and meds to make him comfortable. Stacy and Mark took him home so they could have some final time with him to say goodbye. They scheduled an appointment to have Odie put to rest in 3 days.

But the illness moved faster than the vets expected and just hours before his final vet appt, Odie was in bad shape. Mark was with him his final day and Stacy rushed home to his side.

They huddled together, holding him as the tears poured out. They comforted him as his frail body endured its final moments.

Blessedly, poor Odie's body soon gave up the battle...the pain was gone...and he was at rest!
