In loving memory of...Nala Chapman!

Nala was our 8+ year old Norwegian Elkhound.

Very sadly, Nala came down with an internal infection that was very serious. Rather than putting her through painful surgery, since she had other medical issues due to age, we made the heart-renching decision to let Nala rest.

We miss you Nala and will never forget your happy smiles and cheerful morning howls...as you greeted us and the world!

See/Hear Nala's happy howl:

Norwegian Elkhounds have a historical legacy.

Nicknamed "MooseDog," Elkhounds were moose/elk hunting companions of the Vikings. These brave, loyal and smart dogs can easily hold a moose at bay. I can see how these dogs are known for avoiding danger by being elusive. Frequently you can hear my daughter running through the house screaming "Gimme back my sock!"...as you see Nala make a mad dash around a corner (there's NO catching her!)

And don't EVEN think of messing with her toys! Mine! Mine! Mine!
