Dian Chapman was first awarded the Microsoft
Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award in 1995. This annual award is given to
industry professionals who are recognized experts in various Microsoft technologies
and who contribute to the technical community by freely sharing their knowledge.
Dian has received the MVP award from Microsoft every year since 1995. There are
presently only 3,200 MVPs worldwide. As an MVP, she has received high-level,
exclusive training from Microsoft in her areas of expertise, which include
Microsoft Office, Windows, VBA, XML, ASP, and ADO, as well as Internet
development technologies. Dian has been a software quality beta tester for
Microsoft since 1996 and is currently testing the next versions of both Office
(2007) and Windows (Vista). Also as an MVP, Dian has provided top-level
technical support to Microsoft users since 1995 through the Microsoft
Newsgroups and several other support groups on the Internet, including five of

writer, she specializes in Microsoft Office and Windows tutorials, hundreds of

and has provided training to many thousands of users through numerous technical
newsgroups and user groups since 1995. Dian has written three of her own advanced
